Who Is the Most Educated Indian Film Actress?
Today, I want to discuss the academic qualifications and interests of our female film celebrities.
Yesterday, I watched the actor Vishal-starring movie, Rathnam. It was a fully action-packed movie, also containing many violent graphics & scenes that could have been avoided or portrayed differently.
However, the film overall was quite interesting. Yes, I’m a big fan of South Indian films. Rathnam has a strong storyline and well-written dialogues, with Vishal’s realistic action sequences. But what stole the show was the lead actress, Priya Bhavani Shankar’s acting, in her dual avatars.
What fascinated me was how she could perfectly portray both a pregnant woman fighting against her own relatives, and a hardworking college student aspiring to crack the #NEET exam—all with remarkable élan.
Priya Bhavani Shankar: The Name Is Enough
For the unversed, #PriyaBhavaniShankar (PBS) is a well-known actress in South Indian cinema. Academically, she holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and an MBA. Before stepping into the film industry, she gained popularity as a news anchor with the Tamil news channel “Puthiya Thalaimurai.” PBS also hosted the popular TV show Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai, which made her household name across India. I am still in awe of her acting and expressiveness.
Several South Indian actresses of this generation are well-educated and academically bright. Take, for instance, the Petta fame #MalavikaMohanan. Yes, she now acts in #Bollywood movies as well. Malavika has a degree in #journalism and mass communication and runs a well-known blog, The Scarlet Window, where she talks about #design, #photography, #fashion, and #beauty.
Likewise, #SaiPallavi also successfully completed her #MBBS to become a #doctor before pursuing a full-time career in acting. Following in her footsteps, actress #Sreeleela is also completing her MBBS and has taken a break from acting.
#NithyaMenen also belongs in this category—not only does she hold a degree in journalism, but many of her #films are thought-provoking, revolving around themes of #pressfreedom, #politics, feminism, vigilantism, and social evils that plague our society.
#KajalAggarwal also deserves an honorable mention here. She completed her degree in mass communication and admitted that pursuing an MBA was her dream, but destiny had other plans for her, leading her to become one of the most sought-after actresses in the South.
In Conclusion
Now, coming to Bollywood, besides #TaapseePannu, #ManushiChillar, #BhumiPednekar, Rakul Preet, #KritiSanon, and maybe one or two other actresses, most A-list Bollywood female celebrities haven’t been as strong academically as compared to their southern counterparts!
What’s your thought or input on it? Bollywood Vs Tollywood!
