Today it is starting of the Vikram Samvat which is widely known as the Vikrami calendar, and it is the Vikram Samvat year is begin with the day of the Hindu festival Govardhan Puja, which as we all are celebrating today with the massive enthusiasm and zeal in the whole nation and it is the Hindu carnival Govardhan Puja is touted and regarded as one of the most sacred and an auspicious Hindu festival ever.
As per the English and Georgian calendar it is on the 28th October 2019, Monday, the starting of the Vikram Samvat which is celebrated on the day after the Hindu festival Diwali or the Deepavali and also with the celebration of the Hindu festival Govardhan Puja, on the other hand.

However, it was the Vikram Samvat was reportedly named after the great and the very famous Indian king Vikramaditya, but still the word Vikram Samvat does not see or appeared in the historical record before the 9th century; and the very akin calendar the system has been seen and founded with some other names, which include, Krita and Malava.
