Navratri 2019: Goddess Skandamata Puja & Festival
On the fifth day of the Hindu festival, Navaratri, we all worship, the Goddes, Skandamata.
Skandamātā (Sanskrit:स्कन्दमाता) is the 5th form of the Goddess Durga, one of the most famous and important Hindu deity, which also promotes women empowerment and she is also regarded as the epitome of the “Naari Shakti”.
Exactly, the term “Skandamata”, means, the mother of Skanda, which is another name of God Kartikeya, this is so as Goddess Durga is also the mother of the Kartikeya anyway.

She is one of the Navadurga, and it is all devotes, go for her puja on the 5th day of the festival, Navaratri, (the nine divine nights of Navadurga).

The Goddess, Skandamata, is a four-armed Goddess, and she can be seen rides on a lion. She carries a lotus, a water material, and a bell and in her other hand, SHE gives blessings to us which can be shown either in the statue or image of the Goddess, Skandamata.
The Lord Skanda can be seen in her lap and she can be seen seating on the lotus. So, she is too regarded as the Goddess with a lotus-seat (Padmāsana). And her vehicle is the lion.
Today in the whole nation, on this Chaitra Navaratri, the puja of the Goddess, Skandamata, is going on with massive zeal and enthusiasm, and also devotes, in this festival, worshipping Maa, Skandamata, doing their prayer and chanting their Mantra, so that the Goddess, shall be blessed all of us with her blessing and boons.
As per believes, the Goddess is also blessed married women with fertility. And by doing the puja and prayer of the Goddess, Skandamata, very soon married women can be blessed with kids and also receives blessings of the fruitfulness, and fecundity in plenty.

सिंहासनागता नित्यं पद्माश्रितकरद्वया शुभदास्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी।।

The Bhog and Prasad for the Goddess, #Skandamata, include Banana and Kheer, and some other fruits.
