Adbhut: 2024 Bollywood Hindi Supernatural Horror Film Review | Adbhut Plot Analysis
Yesterday, I watched the horror movie Adbhut, and to be honest, it was quite scary. As the film progresses, you might feel like you’ve seen something similar before, but trust me, the ending will keep your jaw dropped. The movie is intense, yet the scenic landscapes and the setting in the lush valley and picturesque locations of Himachal Pradesh are bound to steal your heart from the very beginning.
The actors in this film are well-experienced and skilled. Whether it’s the lead actor or Shreya, the actress, or even Diana Penty, who plays the ghost, everyone did their best. I must also mention Nawazuddin, who, as always, was meticulous in his role. He not only acted well but ensured the audience remained connected to the film throughout its two and a half hours. His portrayal of a private detective was impressive.
Adbhut Movie: The Film’s Plot
As for the plot, it all starts with a couple deciding to settle in the tranquil Kaas Village, somewhere in Himachal Pradesh, atop a beautiful valley. But as soon as they moved into their new house, they began feeling that something was wrong—something dangerous. They hired a private detective to uncover the truth.
Interestingly, they didn’t go to the police because they knew that if the police found out about their past deeds, the officers might smell a rat and shift their entire focus back to the couple. After all, the couple was far from innocent, even though they pretended to be from the start.
As the story unfolds, there are many twists and turns, but the central focus shifts to why Diana, the supposed ghost, targeted the actor and actress. Out of 7 billion people in the world, why would she choose to attack this particular couple?
What’s There In the End? Climax or Anticlimax
The ending was nerve-wracking. It’s a climax that keeps the audience hooked until the last moment. And would you believe it? The film doesn’t just show that “Karma hits back”; it emphasizes that “karma hits back, whether ethically or not.”
The couple had committed a horrific crime—one they thought they could leave in the past. They had taken the life of a patient who was supposedly in a permanent coma to save another more powerful patient. No matter how immoral, unethical, or unjustifiable this medical experiment was, the powerful patient survived, but the couple’s crime didn’t go unpunished. Their grotesque act haunted them from the moment they moved into the new house, all the way to the inauguration of a new hospital on the judgment day when the ghost confronted everyone involved, including the doctor couple, the hospital owner, and even the investigator, who had remained impartial throughout.
The Last Word
I don’t know what others might say, but for horror movie lovers, watching “Adbhut” won’t be a bad choice. I highly recommend watching this film at least once. After all, no crime is more grotesque than a medical crime, where patients place their trust in doctors, treating them as gods. You surrender your body to them… but what if they turn out to be Satan?
