Inaugural Edition Of India’s Most Awaited Hackathon To Launch In Mumbai On 3rd June
Mumbai, May 25: Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) – the non-profit organization dedicated to scaling Mumbai’s tech ecosystem, has announced the inaugural edition of MumbaiHacks. Aimed at promoting creativity, collaboration and innovation amongst the city’s vibrant startup community, the Hackathon will kick off on 3rd June at WeWork in Andheri. The two-day event will host a total build duration of 22 hours and is anticipated to be one of the most prestigious Hackathons in the country.
The event will provide a platform for talented individuals to showcase their skills, solve real-world problems and contribute to the growth of Mumbai’s vibrant startup landscape. Hackathons offer participants exposure, recognition and networking opportunities while encouraging teamwork and community building. The event aims to fill the void in the city’s tech event landscape by offering a dynamic and engaging Hackathon experience.
MumbaiHacks is open to working professionals including engineers, product specialists and designers. The ‘Solve for Mumbai’ track will be especially interesting since it nudges participants to develop innovative solutions for a range of issues and concerns plaguing Mumbai. The theme presents a unique opportunity for tech enthusiasts and problem solvers to address challenges faced by the city and make a positive impact on its residents and infrastructure. It requires leveraging emerging technologies and taking into account the diverse needs of Mumbai’s residents while designing solutions. MumbaiHacks is all about unlocking the potential of technology and entrepreneurship to solve Mumbai’s most pressing issues and shaping the city’s future.
On the first day, registrations and starter workshops will take place from 12 noon until 2 pm. The subsequent 22-hour build time will allow participants to develop their ideas with guidance from senior engineers and CTOs. On the second day, shortlisting will occur, followed by a panel discussion on the Mumbai tech scene and solution presentations by the top 15 teams. A diverse panel of judges, including Neeraj Roy – CEO and Founder of Hungama; Amit Kumar Gupta – CTO, Rebel Foods; Aakash Kumar – Principal, Matrix Partners India, Vivek Khemani, Co-founder, Quantiphi; Dharmesh Vaya, Solutions Architect (Prisma Cloud) and Aakrit Vaish – Co-founder & CEO, Jio Haptik. The judges will assess the final presentations of the top 15 teams and determine the winners. Each track’s winner across all three themes will receive Rs.1 lakh as prize money.
