What Is Journalism? Journalism Vs Mass Communication | Is Content Writing A Part Of Journalism And Mass Communication?

I have come up with an interesting question—is content writing/branding/advertising/copywriting journalism or not?
Someone asked me exactly this question, and I was very blunt with my answer.
First of all, mark my words: just appearing on TV sets all dolled up and exchanging fiery political debates with political guests or spokespersons is not the only form of journalism.
Likewise, covering riots and writing long-long political articles in newspapers and magazines is, again, not the only way of doing journalism.
So, what you have imagined as the way a journalist works has nothing to do with the reality. It’s good if you admit it as early as you can.
The profession of journalism and mass communication goes beyond politics, religion, and becoming the voice of the voiceless. Ultimately, journalism is a creative field, as well as an umbrella term. So, some people to a certain extent are right that journalism means reporting and anchoring, but desk jobs like sub-editing, news editing, writing editorials and news scriptwriting are also journalism—even though most of these people work behind the scenes and you usually don’t find their bylines in newspapers or news websites. Maybe some media outlets do still give them credits these days.
Now coming to my first question: To be honest, writing brochures, copywriting campaigns, creating marketing materials, and advertorials—all these represent another intricate element or aspect of journalism, which falls under mass communication, corporate communication, advertising, public relations, and integrated marketing.
So, both journalism and mass communication have huge job opportunities, but it depends on how diversified you can be in your job field and what the niches are that you enjoy doing the most.
Oh my god! I just forgot to add—if you are writing sports content or other blogs/articles relating to fashion, health, SAAS, B2B, B2C, beauty, & other stuff, you are still a journalist. But after Americanization, you’ll just be called a content writer. This is almost similar to how STATISTICS has now become DATA SCIENCE!
YOUR OPINION, PLEASE??
