It’s official. Yuvan Shankar and Dhanush joined hands for their next film Maari 2 post a big gap of decades.

The forthcoming film will be regarded as the sequel of 2015, one of the successful movies of Dhanush Maari, and makers announced this news that Yuvan Shankar will be composed music in the movie on last Monday at the official social media.

Though, the musician Anirudh Ravichander composed music of the movie Maari, who had a fall out with Dhanush and parted ways reportedly.

Industry grapevine said that the leading man Dhanush will be reunited with Yuvan Shankar Raja for Maari 2, but Yuvan Shankar Raja will be this time team-up with Dhanush after 1 decades.

To be directed by Balaji Mohan, the sequel will feature Sai Pallavi as the leading lady.

The film was supposed to materialize much earlier but due to Dhanush’s multiple commitments, which includes, his directorial project Power Paandi, the movie had to be pushed.

In this movie Dhanush will be seen in the dhoti-clad, mustache-twirling local rowdy, this was the same get-up which he took for its prequel.

Wunderbar Films will be produced the film which also features the Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas, who has worked in films such as Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha and recently in Dhanush’s maiden Malayalam production Tharanga.

Oru Mexican will be seen doing the role of antagonist and the movie seems like as per reports going to release in both Tamil and Telugu.

The principal shooting is expected to start from early next year. Dhanush is currently shooting for Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai, where he appeared in the thick beard for some portions of the shooting and these pictures of Dhanush leaked from the set of the movie Vetrimaaran’s Vada.

The melodrama will display the story of a gangster from the three decades, played by Dhanush, from North Madras. The project, which will be made as a trilogy, marks Dhanush’s third collaboration with Vetrimaaran after Pollathavan and Aadukalam.
