A fire reportedly broke out at Kolkata’s South City Mall on this Sunday morning. The South City Mall was surrounded by its official staff and the immediately soon after the incident the South City Mall evacuated and there are no immediate reports of any casualties yet. Five fire tenders have been rushed to the spot and the initial reports indicate that the fire broke out at the food court of the South City Mall.

The South City Mall is located in the Lake Gardens locality of the Kolkata city.

The breaking of fire at the South City Mall in Kolkata on this Sunday morning is the result of the proper cause still unknown but as per the official reports, it is the fire broke out at 9.15am when people noticed black smoke engulfing the food court. Security guards immediately severed electric connections and make an announcement to make the people beware who were busy watching the movie show in the multiplex of the South City Mall.

“Prima facie it seems the fire was caused due to a short circuit. No one was trapped inside the mall. We are trying to douse the fire as soon as possible,” Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee stated to media. Meanwhile, the electricity supply has been disconnected in the South City Mall.

After the fire broke out at South City Mall in Kolkata on today morning it is 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Two hydraulic ladders were also pressed into service. Disaster Management Group officials were also presents at the Kolkata’s South City Mall.

Since the entire third floor was engulfed in smoke, firefighters put on oxygen masks to reach the spot in order to sort out the fire issue in the Kolkata’s South City Mall. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, all those who had reached the South City Mall to watch the movie were safely evacuated.
