Veteran Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan, who have recently jumped into Indian politics, earlier this year, are now unequivocally raising their voices for the setting up of Cauvery Management Board (CMB) as per the directive by the honorable Supreme Court of India.
Without CMB, it would be difficult to resolve the longstanding water dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Both Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth along with other Politicians of Tamil Nadu raised a very genuine demand for the same backed up by other leading political parties of the state. Undoubtedly, both Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan can definitely be good politicians in the years to come.
They are expected to leave an indelible imprint in both state and central politics. Actors turning Politicians in Tamil Nadu or in India is not a new thing. In the past, we have seen the likes of MG Ramachandran, Cheeranjivi, Jayalalitha, Sunil Dutt, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini and Raj Babbar among others.
They have all discharged their duties within the ambit of Indian politics onsiderably well in their respective tenures at state assemblies and/or national Parliament.
Can Film Actors Be Good Politicians?
Yes, of course. Why shouldn’t they? If an actor astutely represents the aspirations of the people, can vouch for the legitimate demand of the people, has clear cut stand on the burning issues of the country then definitely they deserve to champion the cause of the people through politics.
Having said so, it is important to know what makes a good politician in the Indian scenario.
- Integrity of Character.
- Proper and Genuine Intention.
- Trust worthy and good popularity.
- Should be Educated and committed to improve the educational infrastructure in the state or country.
- Hardworking in relentless pursuit to serve the nation.
- Must adhere to the laws and bye-laws of the Indian constitution and shouldn’t stoke controversy or hurt the sentiments of the people in any manner whatsoever.
- Should have rational and scientific temper of thinking with righteous aptitude and attitude.
Rajinikanth is Winning Hearts of Gen Next
If we find all these qualities in a film personality who has a genuine interest in serving the cause of the people then of course he should enter the Indian politics and represent the “World’s Largest Democracy” within his capacity.
When most leaders talk of things that are parochial or divisive in nature, it’s heartening to see Thalaivar’s free-frank take on issues of wider national interest.
In his recent meet with the people, Rajinikanth advised students to learn English to develop professionally.
Certainly, this statement came as a whiff of fresh air for the audience and fans worldwide. English might not be our national language. But it is still one of the most popular and widely spoken languages across India and the world.
So, having proper Communication Skills in English definitely act as an important and lifelong asset for the speakers. I definitely and wholeheartedly agree with Rajinikanth on his advice asking students to read, speak and write more in English.
