This is quite common for us to see this in these contemporary times that the Bollywood is following the footsteps of the South Indian cinema, which includes mostly Tamil and Telugu cinema remakes alongside, the Kannada and Malayalam cinema remake.

But there was a time in the our Indian cinema when Tamil cinema specially was heavily influenced from the Hindi cinema, in that time the Bollywood movies were known as Hindi cinema as the word Bollywood was not invented.

In fact, most of the superstar Rajinikanth’s old Tamil movies were remake of the Hindi movies and most of the time actor Rajinikanth reprised the Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s role in those Hindi remakes of the Tamil movies.

1). Deewaar Remake as Thee

The cult classic Deewaar was hit theatres on 1975 which features, the superstar Amitabh Bachchan in his angry young man avatar.

The film was remake in Tamil as Thee after some years in 1981 in which the actor Rajinikanth reprised the Amitabh Bachchan’s role as an angry young man.

2). Lawaris Remake as Panakkaran

The periodic drama Panakkaran is official Tamil remake of the Hindi movie Laawaris. For this movie also Rajinikanth reprised the Amitabh Bachchan’s role and indeed Thailava just nailed it in this movie.

3). Kasme Vaade reamke as Dharmathin Thalaivan

In the movie Dharmathin Thalaivan Rajni was seen in playing dual roles and he actually did justice to his role. This one is the Tamil remake of the Hindi movie Kasme Vaade in which the megastar Amitabh Bachchan was seen playing dual roles.

The movie Dharmathin Thalaivan is also turn to be well liked movie which without a doubt repeated the success of the Hindi movie Kasme Vaade.

4). Don was remake as Billa

One of the best and popular movies in the Amitabh Bachchan’s career, Don was remake as Billa. Though, the Don Genre movie was not common in the Tamil cinema in that time, still with Rajinikanth as leading man Don was remake as Billa and it was well liked by audiences anyway.

Rajinikanth was presented himself in the movie Billa as stylish don and he just stole the show.

5). Amar Akbar Anthony was remake as Shankar Salim Simon 

The iconic Hindi movie, Amar Akbar Anthony was remake in Tamil as Shankar Salim Simon, in 1978. Rajinikanth did the role of the Christian guy, Simon, which was actually played by Amitabh Bachachan originally as Anthony in the movie Amar Akbar Anthony.

The movie Shankar Salim Simon also repeated the success which was created by the movie Amar Akbar Anthony, both movie come in the same genre.
