On Thursday, The nation is now today celebrating its the 76th anniversary of Quit India Movement, it is a massive joy and pleasure for all of us Indians to rejoice and celebrate the Quit India Movement.

It was 9th August 1942, when Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Nation, gave the clarion call of ‘Do or Die’ to all Indians in order to drive out all Britishers from our country.

The Quit India movement was started from the Gawalia Tank in Mumbai and it was one of the foundations and theories of the nation which was for the battle and fight against the Britishers rule.

The Quit India Movement day is also observed and known as the August Kranti Day.

On the occurrence of the 76th anniversary of Quit India Movement, Ram Nath Kovind, the President penned on his official page of the micro-blogging site that, “On the 76th anniversary of Quit India Day, we gratefully remember the countless soldiers of liberty who sacrificed they’re all for our Independence.”

“Looking forward to hosting our freedom fighters at an At-Home reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening,” he added further.

On the event of the 76th August Kranti Day, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, shared Quit India Movement memories from the National Archives.

PM Modi shared some interesting and charming stories of the history relating to the Quit India Movement that includes a poem on Quit India by the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The poem was published in 1946 in ‘Abhyudaya’ a newspaper that was as per various media reports, associated with the Shri Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji.

PM Modi also shared pages from a report that were filed by the colonial administrators which also display how through the Quit India Movement Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) shook the foundations of colonial rule and started and go faster our journey towards freedom.

The PM Modi also shared a video on Twitter, in the memory of, the great women and men who took part in the Quit India Movement.
