Mumbai: On Thursday, reportedly, Three men, which is consists of a 26-year-old man, were arrested by Mira Road police, for forcing his 19-year-old wife into prostitution for over than a year.
Six others, which include, the victim’s mother-in-law, her husband’s uncle and friends, alongside, a pimp, facilitated the crime in the financial capital, Mumbai, on the massive basis.
The arrest is the result of the complaint registered by the victim against her husband and in-laws at the local police station last week on Thane, in Mumbai.
The family lived in an upscale residential locality in Hatkesh, Mira Road, in Mumbai.
In her statement given to the Mumbai cop, the lady has alleged that her in-laws, husband and his friends (all names withheld) sent her to places like Kolkata and Bengaluru, and in those cities, she was forced into prostitution since January 2017.

They also compel her to work in the local bars and undergo the abortion. A team, led by API Ganesh Mali, arrested three people, which includes, the woman’s husband, his friend, 28, and a pimp, 50 as per various media reports.
“All other accused named in the FIR will be behind the bars soon. We have launched a detailed probe into the matter to establish the sequence of events and the exact role of culprits in the crime,” said Sr Police Inspector Vasant Labdhe.
Alongside, these registering an offence under sections 370 (Unlawful compulsory labour), 374 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC, police have slapped the relevant sections of the stringent Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act against the trio, who were taken into the police custody, post being produced before the District Sessions Court, Thane, Mumbai.
In another shocking incident, a purportedly ‘pregnant’ woman was allegedly gang-raped by her ‘former live-in partner’, from some months. The incident took place during the period of July 31 and August 1, when the 20-year-old victim joined her husband for a business meeting.
The woman lodged a First Information Report (FIR) on the 1st August. The police, initially, did not arrest anyone but eventually, the Mumbai cop, managed to only detain Sagar, Mukund Mane, and Vinod. However, late in the night, they were formally arrested and further report regarding this is yet to revels now.
Seems like, Mumbai is now turning to be one of the most unsafe city for women, like the way, more than thrice crimes, taking place against women, we nor surely need to think about the safety of women.
