A massive fire broke out in the slums area of Rithala in Delhi on the Monday early morning. As many as 30 fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. Angry residents pelted stones at two fire tenders which cause in the result of injury of a worker also.

Reports suggested that the fire broke out in the shanties of Rithala area in the North-West Delhi around 12.45 am on Monday. The cause of the fire hasn’t been yet identified.

Heavy black smoke and tall flames were seen in the Rithala area which is the result of the fire which surrounded the entire area. Around Many shanties and vehicles parked nearby were gutted in the fire.

Several Officials of the Delhi Police and fire department rushed to the spot and a resident of the area confirm the report by saying that; the fire broke out around 12.45 am at the corner of the slum.

“Many cylinders which were kept in the slum burst due to the fire,” he said.

Fire department official Dharampal said the residents were really angry as the fire tenders took much amount of time in order to reach the spot.

“The road to these slums has been blocked due to some pipeline work. Every resident wanted that their shanties should be saved first. This resulted in pelting of stones,” he added further.
