The festival Maha Shivaratri as we all know rejoice in the honor of Lord Shiva. On the day of the festival, Maha Shivaratri, all Hindu people who are going to observe the puja, should wake up in the early morning and observe fast.

Then take shower and wear the new dress, preferably, in all Indian women should appear in the new Sarees, and then they can do and perform the puja of Lord Shiva.

While doing the Maha Shivaratri puja, people, need to bath Lord Shiva’s Shivalinga, with Ganga jal and milk and then decorate him with Chandan, bel patta, phool, dhatura and all. While doing puja, people should offer Prasad to the Lord and then will burn diya, aggarbaati.

People need to chant the mantra “Om Namah Shivaay”, and they can do the Aarti of Lord Shiva which is the very crucial activity of the Maha Shivaratri Puja.

Sometimes, on the day of the ceremony Maha Shivaratri devotes stay awake for the whole night, the next day with their sacred heart and in their pious feelings; they perform the puja of Lord Shiva, chant the mantras of God Shiva and then can also do contemplation and meditation which is touted as sacred commotion of the Hinduism.
