IPL Players Retention 2018: Dhoni, Kohli & Sharma Retained. Gambhir and Gayle Dropped
With less than 100 days remaining before the start of the VIVO IPL 2018 or the 11th edition of the Indian Premiere League 2018, the franchises have come out with a surprise announcement of retained players for the upcoming gala tournament.
Interestingly, the VIVO IPL 11 will also mark the comeback of two teams; Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Superkings. Both RR and CSK have been the IPL champions in the past but they faced two-year suspension for alleged fixing controversy owing to which the honorable Lodha Committee appointed by the Supreme Court barred them from participating in IPL 9 & IPL 10.
The replacement teams of Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants have instead played in the IPL 2016 & IPL 2017. Both RR & CSK have huge fan following, and fans are eagerly waiting to see them live on the ground and doing what they do best – of course winning matches.
Obviously, expectations and emotions will be very high this season. Fans definitely want CSK and RR to bring out their best this season. Last year’s runner-up, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), and Gujarat Lions (GL) will no longer feature in IPL anymore. As per the contract, Both GL and RPS were to play two seasons of the tournament and they already did in 2016 and 2017.

IPL 2018 & Indian Premiere League 11: The Battle is Set to Begin Now!
Considering the fierce competition and battle for the best at IPL, it is no wonder that IPL 2018 will going to be a nail-biting one. The comeback of RR and CSK will add new dimensions to it making it superb thrilling and exhilarating as well.
If Dhoni becomes successful one more time and takea the IPL Trophy 2018 back to Chennai for the third time under his meticulous captaincy, then no doubt, all clamors regarding his retirement from the ODI and T20 format will automatically come to an end.
It will be equally interesting to see whether the Aussie legend Ricky Ponting, the newly appointed coach of Delhi Daredevils, can change the fortune of Delhi Daredevils this season or not. Despite being a fantastic team, Delhi have failed to reach into the semis for the last years in a row. This year, it has to prove its mettle and live up to the expectations of its fans.
