With just a few days left for the Indian Premier League (IPL) now auction for the players is done which took place in the city Bengaluru on January 27 and 28, teams will engage in this much-awaited bidding war as each team is keen to have the best players on their league.

The IPL Player retentions in early January witnessed a total of 18 players being retained by the eight consecutive franchises, which includes; the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are all set to make their comeback in this series of the IPL after a long time post, spot-fixing ban.

In the meantime, there are more than 1000 players had registered for the auctions, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be set and trimmer the list of players to 578 who will go under the hammer.

What is Right-to-Match (RTM) card?

The RTM was an option which is introduced by the IPL Governing Council which make a franchise possible to retain their key players.

Teams are eligible to use a maximum on 3 RTM cards, but it also depends on the numbers of players they have acquired during the IPL Player Retention event.

Franchisees that have retained three players much before the auction can use a maximum of two RTM cards in this series and franchises which have retained less than three players, can exercise their full quota for RTMs.

Below we take a look at the eight IPL teams and the players they can keep hold of using the RTM cards:

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
