Mother’s Day is internationally recognized on May 14 and the day is also known as the International Mother’s Day which is being organized by the world only to respect the contributions of a mom which she is giving to her family without any reason. Her love and contribution towards her family are selfless.
The International Mother’s Day is also being rejoiced as the essence of motherhood and the sacrifices mothers have done altruistically. The Mother’s Day came into being in the early 20th century and the day is also declared as the national holiday from 1908 after Anna Jarvis, a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers held a memorial for her mother and the entire episode took place at the Andrew’s Methodist Church in a Methodist Church.
Jarvis wanted to continue her work to honor her mother as about her mother and motherhood she said once, “the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world”. She had sued companies who commercialized Mother’s Day and greetings cards being sold for this special International Mother’s Day from that time.
She wanted people to express love for their mother through handwritten letters and she was not in much support to buy expensive gifts from markets to share with their mother. Indeed, Anna Jarvis created the Mother’s Day International Association and chose ‘Second Sunday in May as ‘Mother’s Day’ as the day was close to her mother’s death.
