Speaking to a famous Hollywood media portal Fandango, Gunn said:
This is definitely not a one-off [for them]. They’re both characters that we’ve taken a lot of time to develop, and they’re a big part of the MCU now.
As per various media reports, grapevine suggests that Sylvester Stallone is to play a member of the Nova Corps (though that is not confirmed), so he will come back with the bang. Thanos steals the Power Stone from their vaults on Xander and he will be now the member of the Guardians in Vol. 3 like Yondu and Nebula in Vol. 2.
The highly anticipated Marvel blockbuster sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. is supposed to have a dazzling comeback with the new star cast. Gunn further stated that Sylvester Stallone – previously rumoured – is, indeed, onboard fielding a “very important” Marvel role. Having confirmed the idea by Gunn explaining the same on his official page of the microblogging site:
“We do have a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe who is going to make their debut in Guardians Vol. 2, which people don’t know about. Sylvester Stallone plays one of these characters”.
As Gunn continued further:
“I will say that my friend Michael Rosenbaum also has a pretty decent role in the movie as well, and it sort of works in tandem with Sly’s character. So, there you go.”
