Well, the Hindu festival, Durga Ashtami is also widely known as the Maha Ashtami which is touted as one of the most sacred and pious days, of the popular and the famous Hindu festival, Navaratri which is also known as the Hindu festival, Durga Puja, in the West Bengal.

The Hindu festival Durga Ashtami is also known as Vira Ashtami because there are seen to use arms or martial arts on this special day as per the Wikipedia.

While, The eight-day of Navratri or the Durga Puja, the popular and eminent Hindu festival, is called Ashtami, and this year we all are celebrating the Hindu festival, Ashtami or Durga Ashtami on the 6th October 2019.
