On the Buddha Purnima, or on the Vesak Day, Buddhists all over the planet celebrate and memorialize events, which are based on the significance to Buddhists of all traditions, which include, the birth, and his enlightenment and good deeds.

Commemorating the festival, Vesak also means making special efforts which can bring merry and the happiness to the unfortunate like the aged, the handicapped and the sick.

This year in 2019, the full moon day is falling on the 18th of May. This full moon is regarded as very important at the same time, very sacred and pious too.

This was the day when the Lord Gautam Buddha was taking his birth as the 9th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, reportedly and as per the mythology. There is also the mythological significance of Buddha Purnima anyway.

The Lord Gautama Buddha is also known as Siddhārtha Gautama (सिद्धार्थ गौतम) in Sanskrit or Siddhattha Gotama (शिद्धत्थ गोतम) in Pali.

He is also the founder of the religion called, Buddhism, one of the most following religions of the World.
